Albuquerque, New Mexico: May 1, 2004
Ashton Golfs X-1 had the highest finishing percentage at the first
LDA Tour Event in 2004
Out of the 48 players competing in the tournament only three were
playing the Ashton X-1 Driver and all three made it to the final 12.
Rock Hicks of Florence, Kentucky and Jeff Gavin of Oakville, Ontario,
finished 5th and 6th respectively at the Long Drivers of America (LDA)
Tour Event in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Rock hit the longest ball of the
first day of competition at 449 yards and the second longest ball of day
two at 467 yards.
Talaga Lesa of Provo, Utah, another Ashton Team Member finished an
impressive 9th place in his first LD Tour Event hitting numerous balls
past 400 yards.
"I am very proud of our team," says Ashton Golfs President, Cliff
Barron. " Other teams had more than 20 players playing their heads. We
only had three! That is an unbelievable result. In seven short months,
the X-1 has already proven its potential. The advanced technology behind
the Ashton X-1 Driver is giving players the edge they are looking for."
As a closing note, the Ashton X-1 Driver also achieved a top six
finish in the 2004 Australasian Long Drive Championship on April 25th.
Only one player was using the X-1 Driver.
